45/365 kera and the broom victory

is it weird that i turn KERA to put "educational" tv on for my dog when I am out of the house? heh



seriously i shouldnt post so many things about my dog - i dont want to be known as the dog blog girl. heh. but thats almost all that i do and hang out with now. so here we go again. we cleaned the kitchen tonight after work and charlie discovered his arch nemesis....the broom. he flipped out over the broom and attacked it. it was hilarious. we wore him out after about 10 minutes of charsing the broom and wrestling with it. good times.

44/365 calm

so finally - the pup is calm around the house often. he actually naps without being forced to be in his crate.

like i said - he loves the top of the couch. he and emerson were worn out and decided it was nap time.

43/365 puppy pillow/bath

charlie now loves to sit above our heads on the couch. he sleeps up there and hangs out. (what will we do when he's huge?) he especially likes sitting by emerson, because licking his head is his new pasttime. it's pretty hilarious.

saturday was a good day. and saturday night was even better :)

so - just like the box - the dog has found yet another FREE toy that he likes better than his other toys. the top cover of a cd spindle package. he LOVES it. obsessively loves it. he likes running and playing soccer with it, and also, as shown here, sticking his whole head in it. the excitement never ends. lil charlie is silly.

40/365 kick it

so last night i either spontaneously fell in the backyard, or i was attacked by invisible garden gnomes. im not sure which. regardless, my left foot rolled and i collapsed. i heard something snap...not sure if it was a bone or a twig. but i was down. DOWN. 24 hours later my foot is still swollen. i can hobble around - but theres pain. are we having fun yet?

39/365 lunch on the lawn

spring is here and that means lunch breaks spent on the kimbell lawn! em and i went to greatoutdoors to get a sandwhich and ate it at the kimbell art museum. I invited other people but they all suck and didn't come. It was just us and we had a great time. The weather was perfect and it was so relaxing. I can't think of a better way to spend a lunch break on a pretty day.

38/365 almost full moon

so i took charlie on a walk today. about halfway home he was thirsty. i stopped and bent down to pour some of my water into my hand for him to drink. he drank it but apparently it wasnt enough. when i stood up, he decided it was a GREAT idea to jump up. and with his paws and teeth, he grabbed my shorts and pulled them down. YES down. so here i am on McCart Avenuie. 530pm. lots of traffic with one half of my shorts pulled down almost to my knees. The other half - almost down that far. it was fun. let me tell you. so i walk a few more feet after pullling them up and reprimanding him, and he does it AGAIN. unbelievable. i gave him more water and he was just fine. go figure.


oh and then i came home and a wreck happened next door to me. 2 large suvs were on the front lawn of my neighbor. i shot this with my phone. i couldnt believe that the cars went over the huge boulders on the corner and knocked down the street sign.

charlie and fang had an improptu playdate today. they had a good time and fang put charlie in his place just enough. i think they will be good friends.

35/365 independence day

so i am finally completely 100% financially independent. This has been a LONG time coming. Being an artist attempting to be self employed for years, or working for less than acceptable wages has been rough. Finally I am making plenty of money and can take on the last piece to complete my independence. WOOHOO!

34/365 tired. so tired.

getting up in the middle of the night to let the dog out is getting old.

31/365 keeping up

we have a pedometer challenge going on at TCU right now. Faculty/staff sign up by department to participate. We wear these pedometers for 8 weeks and record our steps each week. The group that has the most wins something. I'm not sure. Regardless, it's part of a wellness program. I'm not too into working out or anything, but this does help me think about how active I am. I sit at a computer for most of my day/night. It's nice to remind myself to get up and walk around. Any activity is better than nothing, I suppose. Now if only I had remembered to wear my pedometer Fri-Sunday. oops.

I walked almost 10,000 steps on day 31. YAY!

29/365 organization

so i did a lot of laundry and finally hung up my clothes. i have a problem with washing clothes then they sit in the laundry basket or in a nice folded pile on the floor. it eventually explodes all over my room and becomes a nightmare. i cleaned up my room and hung things up. it is quite shocking. i am proud of myself for cleaning. when i get stressed out, as i have been lately, cleaning is the last thing i want to do.

28/365 the benefit

the benefit for rick raised a lot of money. i was raffle girl and sold a LOT of raffle tickets and helped Fritz draw for the prizes. The door brought in a bunch of money too. here is the raffle money. yeah it's a lot.

It's very exciting to help in any way. if anyone wants to donate let me know and ill tell you some ways you can do it. Rick is doing well and was at the event. he was totally humbled by the generosity of everyone. Apparently the insurance of the kid who hit him is only going to cover one of his surgeries. He had 4 I think.

27/365 on the farm

Charlie LOVED my parents' house in Waco. They have 14 acres with 85 pecan trees. He loved running in the orchard and playing with the frisbee. Lots of fun.

i drove to waco to spend the night with the parentals. this was taken with my phone. exciting huh?

i helped brian put software on his new laptop. it has windows vista on it. i loathe vista now. he used to be a computer tech and im basically one... it took us FOREVER to get the blasted machine up and running and set up. thankgod i have a mac.

so i had a box in the living room and charlie decided it would make a good play box/toybox. he discovered this and spent a LONG time jumping in and out of it... pulling it around the room, etc. amazing how dogs and kids are more amused with boxes than their actual toys sometimes. i love it. im including more than one pic b/c they are so cute/funny. enjoy.

photographer? what?

Looking at my posts, I am shocked to think that I am a photographer. heh. I promise guys, I am a great photographer. Life has kind of taken hold of me lately and photography has been put on the side. So far most of my blog here is about documenting my time, rather than exploring photography. I think it is important to document...but I need to put more time into the photography aspect, so i can improve and really start looking more.

Hopefully I can make this baby evolve better... Just wanted to state that - I really don't suck. hehe
